Echoes of Light and Nature
This interactive sound sculpture is inspired by the principles of sustainability and the art of objets trouvés, transforming fir wood from Valle Intelvi and repurposed electronic components into a harmonious fusion of nature and technology. The organically shaped wooden frames, once part of the natural landscape then became wood cutting waste, serves as both structure and inspiration, highlighting its origins and ecological significance. Embedded within is a circuit utilizing the ICL8038 integrated chip, and a light-dependent resistor (LDR) that modulates the frequency of an oscillating signal based on ambient light which is amplified and emitted through a speaker. By giving new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded, this sculpture encourages viewers to reflect on the beauty of reuse and the interconnectedness of natural and technological systems. Approximate dimensions: 15cm Width; 10cm Height; 5cm Depth.
